Activity Description

ALCE CALIDAD is a service company that was established by the Dairy Interprofessional Laboratory of Asturias (LILA ASTURIAS), strongly grounded in the agricultural and food sectors of the Region. It offers, through a wide range of services (analytics, consultancy, hygiene and training), a complete range of controls that allow the agri-food sector to maximise the quality of their products across the entire food chain. This has established ALCE CALIDAD as the reference point in quality assessment in the agri-food sector in Asturias.

Products and Services

ALCE CALIDAD offers a range of assessment services to the food industry in order to improve the quality of their products. ALCE CALIDAD's wide range of knowledge allows them to offer a global and specialised assessment of each need (design and implementation of APPCC systems, ISO 22000, BRC, IFS, hygienic-sanitary audits, etc). In addition, customer's needs have boosted the development of new analytic activities at ground level, as well as the creation of a new Hygiene and Environmental Health Department that includes services for Plague Control (DDD) and the Prevention and Control of Legionellosis.

ALCE CALIDAD carries out microbiological and physio-chemical analysis on milk, dairy products, drinkable water, cider, meat, and all kinds of foods through its ISO 17025-accredited laboratory:

•   Microbiological analyses of all types of food using ENAC-accredited techniques - research into Listeria, Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, moulds and yeasts, etc.

•   Physico-chemical analyses of food using conventional and instrumental techniques accredited by ENAC, on milk and dairy products - fat matter, protein, dry extract, etc.

•   Leading instrumental analytical controls, such as gas chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), in order to analyse various food parameters.

•   Analysis of cider through leading techniques that guarantee the efficacy and speed of results.
