Activity Description
Selfregen, SLU is a bio-pharmaceutical company dedicated to the study of the mechanisms used by adult stem cells to repair and regenerate damaged body tissues. The ultimate target is to discover new "reprogramming" pharmaceutical products that will enhance and improve the patients' own stem cells' regenerative capacity, with the purpose of finding efficient treatment to reverse tissue damage and those pathologies derived from it.
Products and Services
Selfregen strives to discover new active compounds that will functionally modify somatic stem cells in order to enable their use in regenerative medicine. There are two types of available product:
- Cell lines with multipotent activity - these stable lines will become the basis for the manufacturing of screening tests for chemical libraries, as well as commercial products. These products are intended for patent or transfer in various contexts - licensing, sale, co-development, etc.
- Compounds with reprogramming activity - those which show a capability to modify the regenerative capacity of stem cells will be developed into pharmaceutical products

eLearning Platform for SME
in the Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development" was presented by Fraunhofer Gesellschaft. The consortium is composed by members of the smE-MPOWER network, EURESEARCH, the Higher Education School of Western Switzerland, Itycom, Ability Europe, SalsaDev and the Steinbeis Hochschule Berlin. The tender also counts with an advisory group that includes relevant actors, such as the Nokia-Siemens Netwroks and Cegos
A success story
The final results of the 2009 CEEI/BIC Asturias project show an impressive success story:
- Ten companies have entered consortia that have presented a total of 13 project proposals
- One of the proposals was approved and is already underway (Research for the Benefit of SMEs)
- Five more projects were approved for financing and are now in negotiation (four within the Research for the Benefit of SMEs program and one EUROSTARS)
- Three projects exceded the minimum score required for financing
- One project reached the final evaluation in their call, reached by only two candidates

IAM-INNOVIA Project
I+DEX has collaborated with DEX Hungary in the preparation of the proposal "Intellectual Assets Management for Innovative Network oriented Entrepreneurs" -IAM INNOVIA.
The project was presented to the FP7-SCIENCE-IN-SOCIETY-2010-1 call by a consortium of partners from 11 countries that included the European Economic Interest Grouping DEX New Europe.
