KRIS Energy

KRIS Energy is a Knowledge & Innovation Communities proposal, recently submitted to the European Institute of Innovation & Technology. Our participants are: ENIA, Intelmec, NATEC and our Techno Park Asturiass, as well as 3 companies from our sister project in Galicia (Eolicia, Marine Instruments and VICUSdt).

 

KRIS-Energy is derived to deliver knowledge based research achieved by excellent innovative education aiming at the soceity. The proposal addresses Education, Research, Business Creation, Mobility, Leadership and Management strategies which will guarantee a new pathway in education and research approach in Europe.
KRIS-Energy comprises of 6 CLC's namely Fraunhofer DE, University of Malaga ES, Groupe Ecole des Mines Albi-Toulouse FR, Lower Silesian Innovation and Science Park, PL, Lulea Technical University S and University of Southampton, GB. With 85 global partners comprising of Industries, Universities, Business schools, Technology and Science Parks, Research Insitutions, Banks, Governmental agencies and Climate centres and with a total investment of 395 Million € "KRIS-Energy" will achieve within the project duration:

 
1) Energy solutions which will make Europe largely independent in Energy solutions
2) An established EIT multi-campus at all CLC's providing interdisciplinary research and education program based on business creation and innovation, where the universities, R&D companies and industrial partners in the KRIS-Energy constellation are integrated
3) New professional perspectives taught at Master level for junior and senior researchers to implement and economize their innovative ideas, concepts and results with Entrepreneurship and Governmental support
4) Collaboration in teaching at the advanced level for Master and PhD students comparable to MIT and Stanford
5) Establish an Innovation Centre in Europe which monitors the current innovation patterns in Energy worldwide and provide inputs to our consortium which are necessary to have a European added value researchprogram
6) Promote KRIS-Energy as an independent European legal entity which will provide EIT branded degrees (B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D.) and professional certificates
7) Start a European entrance examination procedure like GRE, GMAT for students

The European Institute of Innovation & Technology met in December 16th to choose the first three Knowledge Innovation Kommunities (KICs). KRIS-Energy was one of the two candidates in the Energy area that reached the last evaluation, although the choice fell on InnoEnergy. We congratulate the InnoEnergy consortium on their appointment and wish them good luck on their work.

eLearning Platform for SME

Grupo DEX participates in a consortium that today presented a bid to the RTD-T4-eLearningPlatform-2010 tender. The  "E-learning Platform for SME support networks and small and medium-sized enterprises facilitating SMEs' successful participation
in the Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development" was presented by Fraunhofer Gesellschaft. The consortium is composed by members of the smE-MPOWER network, EURESEARCH, the Higher Education School of Western Switzerland, Itycom, Ability Europe, SalsaDev and the Steinbeis Hochschule Berlin. The tender also counts with an advisory group that includes relevant actors, such as the Nokia-Siemens Netwroks and Cegos

A success story

The final results of the 2009 CEEI/BIC Asturias project show an impressive success story:

  • Ten companies have entered consortia that have presented a total of 13 project proposals
  • One of the proposals was approved and is already underway (Research for the Benefit of SMEs)
  • Five more projects were approved for financing and are now in negotiation (four within the Research for the Benefit of SMEs program and one EUROSTARS)
  • Three projects exceded the minimum score required for financing
  • One project reached the final evaluation in their call, reached by only two candidates

Evaluation process completed

The Research for the Benefit of SMEs call final balance showed a total of 256 project proposals that scored 11 or more points, which made them eligible for financing. Finally the top 132 proposals (scores 12,5 and above) have initiated the negotiation process. The remaining eligible proposals have been included in the reserve list

IAM-INNOVIA Project

I+DEX has collaborated with DEX Hungary in the preparation of the proposal "Intellectual Assets Management for Innovative Network oriented Entrepreneurs" -IAM INNOVIA.
The project was presented to the FP7-SCIENCE-IN-SOCIETY-2010-1 call by a consortium of partners from 11 countries that included the European Economic Interest Grouping DEX New Europe.
